Bringing Hope to African Families
Our goal is to establish 100,000 businesses for just one million dollars in the next 10 years in Africa. (This is done as people repay their loans.) 100,000 small family businesses will revolutionize Africa! Businesses can be just a small fruit stand, selling ice or Cokes on a street corner, a simple janitorial service with a broom and a mop, many small things. In Africa, where there are no big stores, small things will work well.
Between 2004 and 2006 over 150 businesses were started in ZZana, Uganda with a payback rate of 90%. Businesses included retail shops, snack and soft drink kiosks, fish vending, restaurants, grocery shops, salons, laundry shops plus more. 95% of the borrowers are women and 86% live on less than one dollar a day.
In Charis, Uganda, 699 families were ready to start their business, but there were only enough funds for 132 families. With your help we can fund 500 more families in 2007-2008.
Our team in Kenya has give a hand to 14,000 farmers. Through training and loans, individuals are skilled in the business aspect of goat ranching for milk and meat, potatoe farming, sheep, poultry and bee keeping. |
